“Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR) is designed to rapidly expand EV charging infrastructure across major transport networks. By the end of 2025, it requires fast-charging hubs to be installed every 60km along main motorways with each site offering at least 150kW of individual power. This ensures that drivers can travel seamlessly across borders with guaranteed access to high-speed charging.

Beyond power requirements the regulation focuses on making charging as simple as possible for the user. It mandates that all new public charging stations must support ad-hoc payment options like credit cards or contactless devices without requiring a subscription. This shift ensures a transparent and accessible experience for every driver regardless of their charging provider.

Injet’s DC fast-charging solutions comply with AFIR.  Injet ampax can be equipped with payment terminals offering various payment options.”
