CCS1/CCS2

“The Combined Charging System or CCS is the global standard for DC fast charging that integrates AC and DC power into a single connector. This system allows electric vehicles to use the same charging port for both slow overnight charging at home and high-speed rapid charging at public stations.

CCS1 is the primary version used in North America and South Korea. It builds upon the Type 1 AC connector by adding two high-power DC pins to the bottom of the plug. This configuration supports the single-phase electrical grids commonly found in these regions while enabling rapid DC power delivery.

CCS2 is the standard for the UK and Europe. it combines the Type 2 AC connector with two additional DC pins. Because it supports both single-phase and three-phase power supplies, it is the most versatile and widely used fast-charging connector in the global market today.”
