Energy Networks Association
Meaning
“The Energy Networks Association (ENA) is the industry body representing the UK’s electricity and gas network operators. In the EV sector, the ENA maintains the official database of approved Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) that meets the necessary technical standards for connection to the grid. Installers must notify the relevant Distribution Network Operator (DNO) via the ENA’s “Connect Direct” process whenever a new charging unit is installed. ENA registration is a critical requirement for manufacturers, as it ensures their hardware is recognised as safe and compatible with the UK’s national energy infrastructure.”
