Level 2 Charger

Meaning

“A Level 2 charger is a medium-speed AC charging solution that operates on a 208-240V electrical supply. While “Level 2” is a term primarily used in North America, in the UK and Europe, these units are formally classified as Mode 3 chargers. They offer significantly faster charging times than a standard domestic socket (Level 1), typically delivering power outputs between 7 kW and 22 kW. Level 2 chargers are the industry standard for residential driveways, workplace car parks, and public “destination” charging, utilising a Type 2 connector to provide a full charge overnight or during a working day.”
